Swimming

Lower Falls Swimming AreaThe White Mountains are headwaters to 3 watersheds. The Saco River flows East to the Atlantic ocean in Maine. The Pemigewasset river flows south into the Atlantic ocean north of Boston. The Wild Ammonoosuc river flows west into the Connecticut river and down to Long Island sound. These rivers are wonderfully clean and refreshing in the summer. There are many swimming areas in the river that are refreshing on a hot summers day. There are also several lakes close by that offer swimming.
